Enabling AI-Generated Smart Notes

Overview

AI-powered Smart Notes in Practifi automatically generate personalized information from sources such as Client records, corporate filings, and news, providing users with context drawn from multiple sources without manual compilation. Users must have Relationship Intelligence licenses assigned to them to create Smart Notes that include AI-generated content.

This article shows Practifi Administrators how to assign Relationship Intelligence licenses to users, enabling them to access AI-generated content when creating Smart Notes. For information on configuring other Smart Notes settings, see our Enabling Smart Notes article.

Please note: AI-powered Smart Notes are part of our Practifi Intelligence add-on. To request access to this feature, please reach out to your Client Success Manager or Practifi contact. Enabling AI in Smart Notes requires signing additional data processing agreements as part of our partnership with the AI provider.

Understanding AI Smart Note Access

Smart Notes are available to all Practifi users, regardless of their access to AI features. This means users without a Relationship Intelligence license can view Smart Notes with AI-generated content once they have been created and saved, so AI-enriched notes remain a shared resource across your team. They can also create Smart Notes using non-AI-generated content blocks and templates.

However, unlicensed users cannot add AI-generated content blocks to Smart Notes or create Smart Notes from templates that include AI content blocks.

Assigning Relationship Intelligence Licenses

Practifi Administrators can give users access to AI-generated Smart Notes by assigning Relationship Intelligence licenses on the Intelligence Features page in the Settings app:

1. Click the App Launcher and select the Settings app.

   

2. From the Settings app, click the Navigation menu and select Intelligence Features.

   

3. On the Intelligence Features page, confirm you are viewing the Users tab.

   

4. For a user to create AI-generated Smart Notes, your organization must have at least one Relationship Intelligence license available. The License Overview section shows the number of used and available licenses in your Practifi organization.

   

   Please note: If you do not have enough Relationship Intelligence licenses available, contact Practifi Support.

5. In the User Licenses table, click the License Type drop-down next to the user's name and make one of the following selections:
   • Relationship + Meeting Intelligence enables access to AI Smart Notes and the AI Notetaker bot. You should make this selection only if your firm uses Notetaker and you want the Notetaker bot to join users' meetings.
   • Relationship Intelligence enables access to AI Smart Notes without the additional AI Notetaker permissions.
6. Confirm that the Smart Notes AI toggle is on.
7. Repeat steps 5-6 for each user who needs access.

8. At the bottom of the screen, click Save Changes.

   

   The user(s) you selected should now have access to AI-generated content blocks and templates when creating Smart Notes.
