Overview
Managing password resets efficiently helps keep your team connected to the tools they need to serve clients. While users can reset their own passwords through a self-service process (see Logging in and Resetting Your Password), System Administrators can also initiate resets on their behalf when additional support is needed.
Resetting a User’s Password
As a System Administrator, you can reset passwords for users who need additional assistance. This capability ensures you can quickly restore access for team members, helping minimize any disruption to client service.
To reset a user’s Practifi password for them:
-
Navigate to Salesforce Setup by selecting the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page and click Setup from the drop-down menu.
-
Use the Quick Find box on the Administration menu on the left-hand side of the screen, search Users. Select Users from the provided options.
- Locate the user that requires a password reset and select the checkbox beside their name.
-
Click the Reset Password button. The user will receive an email containing a link and instructions on resetting their password. This link is valid for 24 hours.
Please note: Due to a Salesforce error, we recommend users copy and paste the reset link from the email into their browser instead of clicking it directly. This prevents the link from not working or displaying as already “expired” when selected.
A password created this way does not expire, but users must change it immediately when logging in for the first time.
