Enabling the Mailchimp Integration

Introduction

Practifi integrates with Mailchimp via the Mailchimp app in the Salesforce AppExchange. The Mailchimp app lets you add existing Practifi household members to email campaign distribution lists managed and launched from Mailchimp and offers tools for accessing details about a member's activities in an email campaign.

Considerations

Please note the following limitations to the integration of Practifi with MailChimp:

  • This integration is designed to ensure that Subscriber (i.e., Contact) data in MailChimp is kept up to date with Contact data in Practifi. The MailChimp app treats Practifi as the source of truth for CRM data.
  • You cannot create a Subscriber in MailChimp from a Contact in Practifi. The Subscriber, particularly their email address, must exist in both MailChimp and Practifi before it can be synced with data from Practifi. This means that a Subscriber and Contact must first be entered into MailChimp and Practifi, respectively, with a common email address before syncing will start.
  • Due to Salesforce Partner restrictions, the "Allow Mailchimp to create Leads in Salesforce?" and "Mailchimp Lead Creation" settings in the Mailchimp app cannot be used when integrating with Practifi. Teams must leave these settings disabled when following the installation instructions provided by Mailchimp.
