Overview
When working with Practifi Support to resolve technical issues or configuration questions, you may be asked to grant temporary subscriber access to your Practifi instance. This feature allows Practifi Support Engineers to access your organization’s environment directly, enabling them to diagnose issues more accurately, answer questions with specific context, and implement solutions more efficiently.
This article covers the steps required to grant access and outlines key considerations for this feature.
Granting Access
Follow these steps to grant subscriber access to Practifi Support:
- Log in to your Practifi instance.
- Select your user icon in the upper-right corner of Practifi.
- On the user drop-down, select Settings.
Select Grant Account Login Access from the options located in the left-hand menu.
- Locate the Practifi BIZ Support option on the Grant Account Login Access table.
- Change the Access Duration drop-down from “No Access” to the selected amount of time you wish to extend access to Practifi Support. We recommend extending access for at least one week.
- Select Save to finalize this change.
- To expedite your case, please send confirmation of the granting of subscriber access to the Practifi Support Engineer working with you via the Zendesk ticket you |raised, along with any requested information.
Considerations
When granting subscriber access to your Practifi instance, keep the following considerations in mind:
Access Duration Options
To provide login access for more extended periods, you can either grant access multiple times over shorter durations or grant access for one month with a single action. The maximum time you can grant access to your Practifi instance is one month.
Activity Attribution
Changes made through subscriber access within your Practifi will appear to be made by the user who granted Practifi access. This ensures a clear audit trail of all modifications made during the support session. If you need to track specific changes made by Practifi Support, consider reviewing your instance’s audit history after the support session concludes.
Access Restrictions
You cannot grant login access if you’re logged in as another user via their login access. For example, a System Administrator cannot log in as another user in your firm and grant login access to Practifi Support. Similarly, Practifi Support cannot log in as a System Administrator and then log in as any user within your Practifi instance. If Support needs access to multiple user accounts (such as both an Administrator’s account and another user’s account), each user must grant access separately.
Access Expiration
Once the selected access duration expires, subscriber access is automatically revoked. No additional action is required on your part to remove access after the time period ends.
