Integration summary
Our integration with Orion helps you keep client portfolios in sync with the rest of your business:
- View Orion Accounts & Holding information from the Practifi Client record
- Summarise account performance with an Orion Insight dashboard
- Access more Household information and features from the Orion Links navigation bar
Orion Households are captured in Practifi as an Entity owned by the Client, and that Entity record contains one or more Orion Accounts or Assets. The information flows between systems as per the table below:

Enabling the integration
1. Install the Salesforce application
- Click here to view the Orion Connect Salesforce application.
- Click Get It Now and then enter your Practifi credentials if prompted.
- Choose Install in Production and then click confirm and install. The installation process can take some time.
2. Whitelist Orion IP Addresses
- From Practifi, click your avatar in the top-right corner to view the Settings menu and select Salesforce Setup.
- In the Quick Find/Search bar, search for and click on Network Access.
- Click New to create a new Trusted IP Range. Create trusted ranges with the following start and end IP addresses (add a description to remind yourself that they're for Orion):
- 64.37.201.128 - 64.37.201.254
- 67.221.236.4 - 67.221.236.4
- 98.142.89.0 - 98.142.89.255
3. Contact Orion Support (licenses and initial sync)
- From Salesforce Setup, click your Name in the top-right corner and then select My Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Select Grant Account Login Access from the left-hand navigation menu
- Select 1 Week from the Orion support drop-down menu and click Save.
- Email salesforcesupport@orionadvisor.com and notify them that you're ready to enable Orion for Practifi. The integration requires a paid license from Orion, and these licenses are required before continuing. Orion will co-ordinate the initial sync of data between systems, and can tailor it if you have any existing data.
4. Enable menu items
- From Practifi, click your avatar in the top-right corner to view the Settings menu and select Settings.
- Select the Menu Items page.
- To enable the Orion Assets and Links & Insight pages on the Client record:
- Select the Sidebar subtab
- Select Client from the Context drop-down menu
- Select Inactive from the Status drop-down menu
- Type Orion in the search bar
- Click the Edit icon next to the menu item with the 'Orion Assets' label
- Tick the Active checkbox, then Save the menu item.
- Repeat the last two steps for the menu item with the 'Orion Links & Insights' label
- To enable the Orion Assets and Links & Insights pages on the Client Entity record:
- Select Client Entity from the Context drop-down menu
- Click the Edit icon next to the menu item with the 'Orion Assets' label
- Tick the Active checkbox, then Save the menu item.
- Repeat the last two steps for the menu item with the 'Orion Links & Insights' label
- To disable the default Portfolio page on the Client record:
- Select Client from the Context drop-down menu
- Select Active from the Status drop-down menu
- Click the Edit icon next to the menu item with the 'SBCLIASSETIABASSTLIBLTY' code
- Untick the Active checkbox, then Save the menu item.
- To enable the Orion Connect user menu link:
- Select the User Menu subtab
- Type Orion in the search bar
- Click the Edit icon next to the menu item with the 'Orion Connect' label
- Tick the Active checkbox, then Save the menu item.
