Overview

The Home page in Practifi is a summary dashboard of the tasks assigned to you and graphical representations of key metrics. The Home page's features and the display of this page will depend on the app assigned to your user profile. For all apps, the Home page will feature a row of tiles focused on tasks, giving you a snapshot of the work that needs to be completed.

This article provides an overview of the features available on the Home page, including tiles, charts, agenda and Feed mentions. For additional information about using these features, please consult our Using the Home Page article.

Using Home Page Tiles

The Home page takes all the activity in the firm and distills the elements that matter most into a series of tiles. Tiles look for a set of records matching certain criteria and summarize a single value across the records, typically counting how many records were found. They are displayed in groups, called tile rows, having similar tiles displayed together to keep day-to-day work organized.

For example, each app includes a tile row at the top of the page called "My Tasks". This tile row includes tiles that vary based on your assigned app but are intended to summarize the open, delegated and due or overdue tasks for each user.

Tile rows can be expanded or collapsed to bring the included tiles in and out of focus. For example, selecting the "My Tasks" tile row name collapses the tile row to hide all included tiles. The tile row name can be selected again to display the included tiles again.

Selecting a tile reveals a tile table, which contains the related records returned by the tile. If a tile does not return any related records, it will display a zero and cannot be expanded. The tile table includes filters to refine the table's results. These filters are multi-select, meaning they support having multiple values selected simultaneously. They display all values by default. To learn more about tile table filters, please consult our Using the Home Page article.

Tile tables also include row actions, which are found in the overflow menu on the right side of each row in the table. Selecting the caret icon will display a drop-down menu with options to edit the individual record, such as changing the owner of a task or deleting a record.

Selecting one or more records with the tile table provides access to mass actions. These are displayed as buttons at the top of the tile table once the multiple records have been selected. Using these mass actions allows you to change multiple records at once. For example, select multiple task records in the tile table and select the Complete Tasks option to close multiple tasks quickly at once.

Observing Key Metrics with Charts

Practifi ships with charts of various types and includes an assortment of them on each app's home page, consolidating data from throughout your firm's world to visualize it effectively. Similarly to tiles, a list of related records can be exposed inline by selecting the "View data table" option in a chart's settings menu. Charts are interactive, meaning you can select segments within the chart to focus on the related records. Some charts will open a drill-down chart when selecting a segment to display a secondary visualization related to the records in the selected segment.

Chart record tables support filtering, searching and sorting to drill into more detail. Much like tiles, chart tables also include row actions. Selecting the caret icon on the right side of each row in the chart table will display a drop-down menu with options to edit the individual record within the chart.

Selecting multiple records within a chart table also provides access to mass actions. Like in tile tables, these are displayed as buttons at the top of the chart table once the multiple records have been selected. Using these mass actions allows you to change multiple records at once.

Viewing Today's Agenda

The agenda tab on the home page's left-side pane displays all events and tasks due today without needing to open specific tiles. This tab provides a quick snapshot of your day's work and highlights important events needing your attention.

Events and tasks within this section include hyperlinks to their records, meaning you can select an event or task name to open the record in your Practifi organization. Tasks also display a hyperlink to the task's related record that can be selected to open the record in your organization.

Selecting the caret icon in the tasks section opens a drop-down menu with different task views that can be selected. This gives you the option to see the view that is the most effective for your work. For example, select the "Delegated Tasks" view to gain insight into tasks you have delegated to other members of your firm or select "All Overdue" to see tasks that have passed their due date and require completion.

Selecting the View Calendar option in the Agenda section will open your calendar view in Practifi, showing you a larger view of events outside today's events. The tasks section includes a View All option that opens your Tasks page to display tasks in a list view.

Viewing Feed Mentions

The Mentions tab in the home page's left-side pane displays any Feed posts where you've been @ mentioned by username. This tab can be accessed by selecting the Mentions tab within the side pane.

Posts in this field can be interacted with by liking or commenting. Within each Feed post, you can select the caret icon and select Bookmark to add the post to your Feed Bookmarks. This allows you to access this post easily later. Depending on your permissions, you can edit or delete posts by selecting these options through the caret icon's drop-down menu.
