Overview
Teams may notice that new tiles are sometimes available to your organization during our scheduled product releases. These tiles are not automatically added to your organization to prevent disruption within your firm's Home page layout. They are available for adding to your organization by a System Administrator. This article outlines how to add a Practifi Tile to your app's Home pages and remove them from the Home page to customize your users' viewing experience.

Before You Begin
Tile visibility is set by each Practifi app and is not based on user profile type or permission access. This means that changes to tiles for the Advisor app will impact all users using the Advisor app but will not impact users within other apps. To have a newly released Tile display in your organization, it will need to be manually added to each app where you would like to have the Tile display. You will need the System Administrator permission access level within your Practifi organization to perform this function.
Please note: This article is only for adding standard Practifi Tiles made available through our product releases and is not applicable for custom tiles requested through our Professional Services team.
Understanding Tiles and Tile Rows
Tiles and Tile Rows are Salesforce components that display on your Home page. Tile Rows are designated by their header displayed above the individual tiles. For example, My Tasks or Key Dates.
The Tile Row is the component that groups the individual tiles on the Home page. Tiles on the Home page display based on their relationship with a Tile Row. This means that for a Tile to display, it must relate to the app's Tile Row by a component relationship established in your organization.
Adding Practifi Tiles
- Select the App Launcher in the upper left-hand corner of Practifi.
- Use the Search apps and items... search bar to search for "Components."
- Select Components from the drop-down menu under the Items section.
- Select the caret beside Recently Viewed to change the list view and select Tiles from the drop-down menu.
- Locate the Tile Row that you add the tile to from the list and select the tile row's hyperlinked component name. The naming for Tile Row will follow the convention of "App Name - Tile Row Name." For example, the Tile Row of "Advisor - Key Dates" is the row of Key Dates tiles within the Advisor app.
- Select the Related subtab on the Tile Row Component page.
- Select the New button on the right-hand side of the Component Relations (Parent) table.
- In the Child field, type the Tile name you want to add to the Tile Row and select the name from the drop-down menu. The naming for Tiles will follow the convention of "App Name - Tile Row Name - Tile Name." For example, "Advisor - Key Dates - Upcoming Meetings."
- Once the information is entered, select Save to finalize the Tile addition to the Tile Row.
- Repeat the steps as necessary to add the Tile to multiple app Home pages. To display the changes in your Practifi organization, perform a Platform Cache reset. Steps for this process are provided in the Clearing Platform Cache section of this article.
Removing Practifi Tiles

- Use the Search apps and items... search bar to search for "Components."
- Select Components from the drop-down menu under the Items section.
- Select the caret icon beside Recently Viewed to change the list view and select Tiles from the drop-down menu.
- Locate the Tile Row that you remove the tile from the list and select the tile row's hyperlinked component name. The naming for Tile Row will follow the convention of "App Name - Tile Row Name." For example, the Tile Row of "Advisor - Key Dates" is the row of Key Dates tiles within the Advisor app.
- Select the Related subtab on the Tile Row Component page.
- On the Component Relations (Parent) table, locate the Tile name for the Tile you would like to remove within the Child column. The naming for Tiles will follow the convention of "App Name - Tile Row Name - Tile Name." For example, "Advisor - Key Dates - Upcoming Meetings." Select the caret icon located to the right of the Tile name.
- Select Delete from the drop-down menu. This will remove the relationship from the Tile to the Tile Row and prevent the Tile from displaying in your organization in the specific App.
- Please note: Deleting the relationship between the Tile Row and the Tile does not delete the Tile from your Practifi organization. This tile will remain available for assignment back into the Tile Row as needed.

- Repeat these steps as necessary to remove the tile from multiple Practifi Apps, for example, removing the Upcoming meetings tile from the Client Service app in addition to the removal from the Advisor app. To have these changes reflected in your Practifi organization, perform a Platform Cache reset. Steps for this process are provided in the Clearing Platform Cache section of this article.
Clearing Platform Cache
To have the changes you've made by either adding or removing a Practifi Tile reflected in your organization, you will need to perform a clearing of your Managed Package Platform Cache. To do this:
- Navigate to Salesforce Setup by selecting the cog icon in the upper right-hand corner of your Practifi organization and select Setup from the drop-down menu.
- Use the Quick Find search bar on the left-hand side to search for Platform Cache and select this option under the Custom Code menu.
- Locate the Practifi package on the table within the Platform Cache page and select the hyperlinked Name for this package.
- Select the Clear Cache button located on the table.
- In the pop-up confirmation box that displays, select the OK button.
- The page will refresh quickly, and the system will clear the Platform Cache. The changes made to your displayed tiles should now be displayed within your Practifi organization.
