Overview
Records in Sentir share a consistent page structure built around three zones: a header, a tabbed main workspace, and a persistent sidebar. Once you understand how the page is laid out, you can navigate any record type with confidence.
This article walks through that structure: what the header tells you, what each tab is for, and how the sidebar works across tabs.

Understanding Record Pages
Every record page follows the same structure, so once you've learned your way around one record, you've learned them all. The page is organized into three zones:
-
Zone 1: the header runs across the top and tells you who or what you're looking at: the record's name, its place in your firm's hierarchy, and the actions you can take from it.
-
Zone 2: the main workspace consists of tabs that vary by record type. On Client records, the tabs are Overview, Timeline, Details, Records, and Documents.
-
Zone 3: the sidebar r is where you talk to your AI assistant via Chat and to teammates via the Feed. On some records, this space is used for record-specific tools instead: a Task, for example, shows its Checklist and Deliverables here.
Home pages use this same three-zone structure, which keeps the experience consistent as you move between your Home page and individual records.
The Record Header
The header orients you before you read anything else on the page. At the top, a clickable breadcrumb trail traces the record's place in your firm's hierarchy, running from Home through the firm, division, and advisor to the record itself. Click any segment to move to that level.
Below the record's name, you'll find:
- Type and status pills, such as Household and the client's segment, so you can confirm at a glance what kind of record this is.
- Topic pills are the editable tags your firm uses to categorize entities, such as Estate Planning or Retirement Transition.
- A one-line intelligent summary of the record, giving you the shape of the relationship in a sentence.
On the right side of the header are the record's actions: Add Work, Update Contact Info, and Log Activity, plus a caret that you can click to view the full list. The additional actions vary from firm to firm because some are tied to integrations your firm has enabled.
The Sidebar
The sidebar runs down the right side of every record page and stays visible as you move between tabs. Its contents vary by record type. The components described below are specific to Client and Prospect records.
Chat
Chat lets you ask questions about the record in plain language. Quick prompts surface common requests — Call Prep, Catch Me Up, Market Context, and more — so you can get up to speed without typing a full question. A Pick up where you left off shortcut returns you to your most recent conversation about this record. For more information, see our Using Chat in Sentir article.
Servicing Team
Shows who serves this client, with role badges and live counts of each member's overdue Tasks, Tasks Due Soon, and open Deliverables. Use it to get a quick read on workload without navigating away from the record.
The Feed
Carries the record's posts and comments. Use it to leave notes for teammates or follow activity on the record over time. The Feed appears on most record types, even when Chat and Servicing Team do not.
The Overview Tab
Entity records open on the Overview tab, which uses a two-column layout to surface the most important information about the record at a glance. On a Client record, you'll typically see the following components.
Key Members
Displays a card for each member of the household, showing name, role (Primary, Spouse, or Dependent), and date of birth. It's a quick reference for who's in the household without leaving the Overview tab.
Dispatches
Dispatches are agent-written reports written from different professional perspectives, such as an estate planner or a tax strategist. Within Dispatches, the General Briefing is a top-level relationship summary that loads by default. A selector lets you choose a different report type, and a section menu lets you navigate within the selected report. For more information, see the Working with Dispatches in Sentir article.
The Noticeboard
The Noticeboard collects prioritized alert cards about the record. Cards are labeled by urgency — Critical, Important, or Standard — and each includes Discuss and Actions controls so you can move from an alert to a conversation or a next step without leaving the tab. For more information, see our Staying Up to Date with the Noticeboard in Sentir article.
Tasks Due Soon
The Tasks Due Soon component displays short list of the record's upcoming and overdue tasks, showing task name, status, due date, and assigned user. Approaching deadlines are visible the moment the record opens.
Exploring the Other Tabs
The Overview tab is the landing point, but the rest of the tabset is where you go for depth. Here's what each tab is for and when to reach for it.
Timeline
A unified, chronological history of everything that has happened on the record. The timeline groups entries under Upcoming & Overdue at the top, then by date going back in time. It defaults to a three-month window, with Jump to Date and Refresh controls, and a filter to narrow by activity type.
Use the Timeline when your question starts with "when" — for example, when a process was started, when a deal was created, or what tasks are overdue.
Details
The record's fields, organized into collapsible sections. On a Client record, you'll find:
- Basics — core fields like entity name, client segment, entity owner, source, related division, referrer, and description.
- Key Measures — aggregated metrics for the household.
- Members — each person in the household with their role (Primary, Spouse, Dependent) and date of birth.
- Active Addresses — the household's address records.
Use the Details tab when you need to read or edit a specific field value.
Records
All records related to the client, grouped by category in a table view with a vertical navigation rail on the left. A Find a view search box at the top of the rail lets you jump straight to the list you need without scrolling.
On a Client record, the Records tab has a rail with record types organized under the following headings:
- Financials — Assets, Holdings, Liabilities
- Work — Projects, Processes, Tasks
- Servicing — Deliverables, Deliverable Fulfillments, Services
- Pipeline — Deals
- People and Relationships — Client Entities, Members, Relationships, Referrals
- Activities — Calls, Emails, Events
- Contact Info — Addresses, Email Addresses, Phone Numbers
- Documents — Reference Documents
- History — Field History, Stage History
When selected, each record type opens in the main table area with filters, column sorting, and a button to create a new record. The button name updates depending on the record type you're viewing.
The Timeline and Records tabs are two views of the same relationship. The Timeline answers questions you're thinking about chronologically, like "What happened last quarter?" The Records tab answers questions you're thinking about by category, such as "Which processes are open for this client?"
Documents
The Documents tab presents the record's files and Notes in one place:
- Files — Documents attached to the record. Upload files directly or drag and drop them into the upload area.
- Notes — The AI-generated notes associated with the record.
Tabs Vary by Record Type
The three-zone page structure is consistent across Sentir, but the tabset in the main workspace adapts to each record type. Entity records like Households and Members have the broadest tabset. Operational records such as Processes, Tasks, Projects, Deals, Events, and Deliverables have more focused sets that align with their purpose. The table below shows which tabs are displayed for each record type. Tabs that differ from the standard ones found on Entity records are indicated in bold.
| Record Type | Tabs | Sidebar |
|---|---|---|
| Client/Prospect | Overview, Timeline, Details, Records, Documents | Chat, Servicing Team, Feed |
| Contact | Overview, Timeline, Details, Records, Documents | Feed |
| Group | Overview, Hierarchy, Timeline, Details, Records, Documents | Feed |
| Service | Overview, Timeline, Details, Records, Documents | Feed |
| Process | Overview, Tasks, Timeline, Details, Documents, History | Feed |
| Task | Overview, Active Form, Details, Documents, History | Checklist, Deliverables |
| Project | Overview, Board, List, Calendar, Timeline, Details, Documents, History | Feed |
| Deal | Overview, Details, Tasks, History, Documents | Feed |
| Event | Meeting Digest, Details, Documents | Deliverables, Feed |
| Deliverable | Details, Activation Rules, Fulfillments, Tasks, History | Feed |
The Records tab navigation rail also varies by record type. The table below is intended to present a representative sample rather than an exhaustive list. These examples give you a sense of how the rail adapts. If you're looking at a record type not listed, the rail will contain the groups most relevant to that record's context.
| Record Type | Records Tab Navigation Rail Groupings |

| Client | Financials, Work, Servicing, Pipeline, People and Relationships, Activities, Contact Info, Documents, History |
| Client Member | Financials, Work, People and Relationships, Activities, Contact Info |
| Prospect | Work, Pipeline, People and Relationships, Activities, Contact Info |
| Prospect Member | Work, People and Relationships, Activities, Contact Info, History |
| Group | People and Relationships, Financials, Work, Servicing, Pipeline, Activities, Contact Info, Documents, History |
